Hot summer days have me craving all the smoothies. And I absolutely love that one smoothie packs in so many feel-good foods like spinach, fruits, nut butter, and yogurt. I have tried many combinations of smoothies and find myself coming back to this one the most.
Let’s talk ingredients:
Frozen Banana, Blueberries, Cherries: forming our fruity base, I have found that this combo provides the perfect all-natural nutrient-rich sweetness
Spinach: totally optional but adds no flavor and so many essential vitamins and minerals
Almond Butter: my fav. but use whatever nut butter you like!
Whole Milk Greek Yogurt: I really, really prefer whole milk yogurt here for the added creaminess. 2% or nonfat will work, but your smoothie may come out a tad more tart.
Almond Milk: just a touch to create the smooth consistency and optimal thickness.
Blend all the ingredients in a high speed blender, drizzle the top with nut butter, and you are all set! Let me know in the comments below if you give this one a try!
Blueberry Cherry Power Smoothie
- high speed blender
- 1 banana frozen
- 1/2 cup blueberries frozen
- 1/4 cup dark cherries frozen
- 2-3 cups spinach
- 1/2 cup whole milk Greek yogurt
- 1-2 tbsp almond butter
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- Toss all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Drizzle the top with some extra nut butter and you have yourself a seriously delicious breakfast or snack.
